Sports Therapy is an important aspect of healthcare involving the assessment, prevention and rehabilitation of injury, working with a client to regain full functional or sport specific fitness. The Sports Therapy profession incorporates Sport and Exercise Sciences with examination and assessment skills, treatments such as electrotherapy, manual therapies such as peripheral and vertebral mobilisations and a strong rehabilitation background.  


A Sports Therapist; utilises screening principles to highlight injury predisposition's and create preventative programmes in preparation to optimising performance, has the knowledge to provide rehabilitation programmes specific to injury, has the ability to provide immediate first aid from a recreational to competitive level, can comprehensively assess an injury and refer for further intervention when needed and is qualified to provide Sports Massage, pre, inter and post activity.


Graduate Sports Therapists have a degree qualification involving three years of studying where they study the underpinning Sports Science Principles vital to working within sport and also gain pitch-side First Aid qualifications.
